信贷人类 offers free financial health seminars to SAC students.
Monthly seminars offer training in budgeting, saving, and other topics.

SAC’s 学生维权中心 has teamed up with 信贷人类 to provide free financial health seminars to students on campus.

信贷人类, a credit union serving the 圣安东尼奥 area, hosts a series of seminars teaching the basics of financial health to students. Topics range from an introduction to financial health (offered quarterly), 到预算编制(每月提供), 还有其他科目, including saving and understanding credit.

The workshops are open to all students who want to learn more about taking control of their financial health. It’s especially helpful for those receiving financial aid for the first time, 帕梅拉·法瑞斯说, Senior Coordinator of Student Success in the 学生维权中心.

“This helps them manage their money and helps them know what to do when they get their aid,”她说。. “Some students don’t even have bank accounts, which you need when you receive financial aid.”

“We’re hoping that they’ll be on campus more just helping students with financial information and to set up bank accounts if needed,法瑞斯说.

The series of SAC campus workshops began in March and have met with great success, prompting the credit union to work with 阿拉莫大学 to bring the program to other campuses in the district.
